Johannesburg, the engine of Africa. Without Johannesburg Africa can grind to a halt (9 million inhabitants and still growing). Gold was discovered in the reef in the 1800's. The area was once an inland sea with one of the big gold rushes, a mining town was born and named Johannesburg at 1895 meters above sea level. This city has a lot to offer from History, Cultures, Heritage, entertainment and many more. Sandton is an affluent area situated north of Johannesburg. The name comes from the combination of two of its suburbs, Sandown and Bryanston. In 1969 Sandton was promulgated as a municipality in its own rights, but lost its status as an independent town after the re-organization of South African local governments. Sandton, "Africa's Richest Square Mile" is the new business district of South Africa.

Get away for a day safari visit. See the "Big Five" just 2 hours from Johannesburg and Pretoria in one of the country's most popular wildlife areas Pilanesberg National Park. The park ranks among the largest of the parks in South Africa, almost 60.000 hectare reserve. This malaria free game reserve is situated on a prehistoric volcanic crater. Over time, wind and water have carved a spectacular landscape with rocky outcrops, open grasslands, wooded valleys and thickets. The beauty of Pilanesberg is reflected in a large central lake, the Mankwe. Standing above the surrounding bushveld, the park unfolds colourful hues and panoramas, a delight for photographers and guests. Pilanesberg National Park offers the ideal opportunity to view the Big 5 when time is lacking to visit game reserves such as the Kruger National Park, which is further away. Summers can get hot, but visitors will enjoy Pilanesberg all year round.

Blyde River Canyon is a site of Natural Phenomena. It is the largest Green Canyon in the world and it stretches over 37 Kilometres and is over 800 meters deep. The Blyde River Canyon is located in the province of Mpumalanga on the northern parts of the Drakensberg Escarpment. The Blyde River Canyon is a significant natural feature of South Africa and it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Blyde River Canyon Reserve extends along the Blyde River Canyon's winding path, which at every turn offers more and more impressive views over sheer edges dropping 800m into the riverbed. The fresh mountain scenery and panoramic views over the Klein Drakensberg escarpment are quite spectacular and give the area its name of 'Panorama Route'. Viewpoints are named for the spectacle they offer, and God's Window and Wonder View hint at the magnitude of the scenery. The Canyon consists mostly of red sandstone. While it is difficult to compare canyons worldwide, Blyde River Canyon is one of the largest canyons on earth and may be the largest "green canyon" due its lush subtropical foliage. Blyde River Canyon includes natural wonders such as the Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels, Pinnacle Rock, God's Window, Berlin and Lisbon falls. One of the view points show the "Three Rondavels", thought to be reminiscent of the huts of the indigenous people.
At the meeting point of the Blyde River (river of joy) and the Treur River (river of sorrow) water erosion has created one of the most phenomenal geological phenomenon in South Africa. The ‘Bourke’s Luck Potholes’ have taken thousands of years to form strange cylindrical sculptures carved by swirling water. The smooth red and yellow rocks contrast with the dark pools.
The geology and climate of this high rainfall plateau results in masses of waterfalls, beautiful to look at and many of which you can visit. Others are hidden deep within some of the largest man-made forestry plantations in the world, with row upon row of pine and eucalyptus trees.

What do you think about when you think of paradise on Earth? You probably think of some place out in nature with a nice warm climate, a safe and friendly environment, and with beautiful surroundings.
Paradise is a place where you can get away from the chaos of the city, and where there is no such thing as ‘rush hour’ – only ‘happy hour’. For us nature lovers withe a sense of adventure, we might also think of a place where antelopes, mongooses and leopards forage in the town backyards, and hippos roam the streets at night! There is such a place, and it’s called Saint Lucia on the east coast of KwaZulu-Natal! St. Lucia is probably the only town in the world that is completely surrounded by a World Heritage Site – in this case the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. On the west and south, it is bordered by the estuary itself, home to about 800 hippos and 1,200 crocodiles. On the east it is bordered by the warm Indian Ocean. There is only one road leading into the town. The town itself has a single main street with shops and restaurants, and the remaining streets have a park-like appearance, while the subtropical climate makes it green year round. Estuary or Delta Lucia is a unique nature reserve. Here you will see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Local hippos and crocodiles are unique species living in Lake St. Lucia, where fresh water is mixed with sea water. Lake St. St. Lucia, which is about 70 km long from north to south, stretches along the coast of the Indian Ocean. Between the ocean and the lake is only a narrow land and the lake is connected to the ocean by several small canals. We will travel by road across the eastern shore of iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a nature reserve where many game can be seen. The animals living here include, but are not limited to, leopards, Greater Kudu, Black Rhinoceros, African Buffalo, Zebras, Eland, a rich bird fauna and many invertebrates. Along the way we stop at an engaging place called "Mission Rocks". From this vantage point, we offer an impressive view of Lake St. Lucia with its adjacent wetlands on the one hand and a view of the majestic Indian Ocean on the other.
Cape Vidal hosts a picturesque tropical forest that touches a beautiful beach and coral reef, making it ideal for snorkeling and swimming.

The Elephant Sanctuary started in 1999 and has three Sanctuaries across Southern Africa. The Sanctuary started from five elephants to twelve African Elephants. These elephants have been domesticated through positive reinforcement animal management principles and, as a result, provide us with a unique opportunity to interact with them. Visitors are able to touch, feed and walk hand-in-trunk with the elephants and go back to riding. This sanctuary is located at the same place as the monkey sanctuary. It's a unique monument that recalls pioneering history of SA. Next, we also look at the Union Buildings where President of RSA is seated. Buildings were designed by architect Sir Herbert Baker at the beginning of the 20th century. The big clock at the Union Buildings is identical to the Big Ben clock at the Palace of Westminster in London.
Early in the morning departure to Blyde River Nature Reserve. Before we reach the canyon we will visit Pilgrim's Rest which is a small town where everything remains as it was more than 120 years ago when this part of the world experienced the "Golden Rush". At one of them we'll have a lunch. Accommodation in Graskop.

The Blyde River Canyon is a significant natural feature of South Africa, located in the Province of Mpumalanga and forming the northern part of Drakensberg escarpment.
